Cheese Processing Equipment

Cheese making equipment: vats, curd handling and pasta filata stretchers.

Cheese equipment is defined by the cheese. A vat suited to a soft fresh cheese is not the right vat for a hard pressed cheese, because cutting, stirring and draining requirements differ.

Overview

What decides the result

We build cheese vats and curd handling equipment, and we supply complete cheese lines where the whole process is being built at once.

Equipment in this category

Standard construction

  • Open cheese vats with heating jacket and stainless cutting harps for curd
  • Mobile curd-draining trolleys with perforated stainless baskets
  • Mozzarella / pasta filata stretching machine with twin stainless augers and touch-screen control
  • Temperature display and control on every heated vessel
  • SUS304 stainless steel on all product contact surfaces, polished to Ra 0.6 μm, argon-shielded welds
Built to order

Equipment is built to order around the cheese types you produce. Contact surfaces are SUS304 finished to Ra 0.6 μm with argon-shielded welds. Tell us which cheeses you make and your daily milk volume.

How to choose

  1. Name the cheeses

Fresh cheese, mozzarella and hard pressed cheese need different vats and different downstream equipment.

  2. Milk per day to cheese

Vat volume and the number of fills per day come from this figure; as a rough guide, around 10 litres of milk give 1 kg of mozzarella.

  3. Decide what is manual

Small plants cut and drain by hand with trolleys; larger plants add stretchers, moulding and brining. We match automation to labour cost.

Not sure which model fits your throughput?

Send your daily volume and your site conditions. We will recommend a model and explain the reasoning — including a smaller machine than you asked for, if that is what makes sense.

Where this equipment fits in your line

Information we need to quote

  1. Which cheese types do you produce?
  2. How much milk per day goes to cheese?
  3. How many vat fills per day?
  4. Do you need curd handling and pressing, or vats only?
  5. Local voltage and frequency?

Questions buyers ask

Do you supply complete cheese lines?
Yes. Where the whole process is being built at once we design the line — standardising, vats, curd handling, pressing — rather than supplying vats in isolation, because the stages have to be balanced against each other.
Do you make mozzarella stretching machines?
Yes. Our stretcher works the curd in hot water with twin stainless augers and is controlled from a touch screen. Tell us the curd volume per hour and whether you also need moulding.
Can one vat make different cheeses?
Often yes, if the cheeses are similar in cutting and cooking. Very different cheeses — a soft fresh cheese and a hard cooked cheese — are better served by separate vats.
Start with your numbers

Tell us what you produce. We will size the line.

Product, daily volume, voltage and heating source are enough to start. An engineer replies with a process flow, equipment list and quotation.
